Research Center for International and Interdisciplinary Theology
The Research Center for International and Interdisciplinary Theology (FIIT; English: "Research Center for International and Interdisciplinary Theology") is a company founded in 2005, University Institute of the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg . At the Institute to participate university professors particularly from the field of Protestant theology, but also in the areas of religious studies , gerontology , musicology , Jewish Studies and Classical Archeology .
The purpose of the institute is to promote critical reflection on the Christian faith, its present-day significance and history - especially through interdisciplinary and international cooperation. To this end, the FIIT enters into a dialogue with extra-theological (including sociological, psychological, philosophical, religious studies, gerontological) attempts to gain access to lived religiosity.
Among other things, FIIT organizes an international competition together with the John Templeton Foundation , in which the best publications on the subject of "God and Spirituality (as broadly understood)" are awarded.
