Fortuna Ehrenfeld is a German-speaking indie pop band from Cologne .
history
Fortuna Ehrenfeld is a band project by the Cologne music producer, composer and lyricist Martin Bechler .
In the studio, Bechler works with producer René Tinner . Bechler writes texts and music himself. He also plays the instruments himself in the studio.
The first album was released in 2016 under the name Das Ende der Coolness Vol.2 on Peng! / Kick-Media Music GmbH . While looking for a suitable booking agency, Bechler found what he was looking for at the Hamburg music label Grand Hotel van Cleef , where he was also able to release his second album Hey Sexy in August 2017 .
The band appears on stage as a trio, initially with a changing line-up. In summer 2017 they played their first big gig with Jenny Thiele on keyboard and Paul Leonard Weißert on drums at the 15th anniversary of their record company in front of 10,000 guests. This was followed by appearances all over Germany. At the beginning of 2018 they were touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland as the opening act for the Hamburg indie band Kettcar , which are published by the same record company. In February 2018 they played at the Beach Motel van Cleef Festival, to which they also contributed the festival anthem. In the summer of 2018, several more concerts with Kettcar followed.
In May 2019 the third album "Helm ab zum Gebet" was released, in addition they released an album in French with "Debout pour ma prière", some with translated versions of the songs from "Hey Sexy". The album will be released in France in 2020, followed by a small tour there.
In February 2020 Jannis Knüpfer returned as a drummer.
