Foulard (machine)
A foulard [fu'la: r; of the; French] is a machine that is required in all stages of textile finishing.
The padding machine is also known as a wide dyeing, padding or padding machine. It is used to evenly apply a liquor to wide webs of fabric, such as. B. woven and knitted fabrics. In addition to dyeing, it is also used for impregnation and other finishing processes.
Furthermore, a padder can be used for dewatering textiles so that the subsequent drying, e.g. B. in a stenter , shortened and thereby the energy consumption is reduced.
