The Rumen is an automobile built by the French company Four Stroke Design (also 4Stroke ), which was developed by the Bulgarian engineer Rumen Antonow .

development

As a child, Rumen Antonow (* 1944) dreamed of a Bugatti Type 57 and designed the first sketches of his own dream car. In 1988 he fled from socialist Bulgaria to France , where he was able to continue working on the projects he had started in his home country. The first project with which he attracted public attention was an automatic transmission. In 1991 he remembered his childhood dream and built his first plastic model of rumbling. At that time he was not yet pursuing any economic goals with the project, but wanted to take a first step towards realizing his dream of the self-built car. At the Paris Motor Show in 2002 he presented a first prototype to the public. The consistently positive reactions prompted him to produce his car in small series in order to be able to share his dream with others. Since then, the vehicles have been handcrafted by just five employees in a small workshop near Paris . Attempts are made primarily to use Antonov's patented techniques. Steering, chassis components and engine come from the Peugeot 107 . Nevertheless, a copy of the rumen should be completed within two weeks. The basic price is around € 50,000.
