Fourneau Saint Michel ( German  blast furnace St. Michael ) is the open-air museum of the Belgian province of Luxembourg .

location

The museum is located 7.5 km NNW of Saint-Hubert and 11.5 km SSE of Rochefort in a lonely valley of the Belgian Ardennes in the province of Luxembourg in the Walloon part of Belgium .

exhibition

The museum consists of two separate parts that can be accessed from a shared parking lot. The main attraction of the Musée du fer (iron museum) is a baroque blast furnace with ancillary buildings, which is also the nucleus of the museum.

The Musée de la Vie rurale en Wallonie (Museum of Rural Life in Wallonia) begins on the other side of the car park . On 80 hectares, the museum houses  several assemblies of typical 19th century houses from ten different regions of Wallonia. At the end of the museum is the House of the Ardennes Horse , where visitors can admire several living specimens of this symbol of the Ardennes.

In the agricultural part of the museum there is a restaurant and a snack stand. The iron museum has a café.
