Fowlis Castle is a tower house in the settlement of Fowlis , about 8 km northwest of Dundee , in the Scottish county of Angus . The building dates from the 17th century.
history
The property first belonged to the Maule family and then to the Mortimers . In 1337 it fell to the Gray family through marriage . Sir Andrew Gray of Fowlis was raised to Lord Gray in 1445 . The castle currently serves as a farm and Historic Scotland has listed it as a Category B Historic Building.
