Fränkischer Grenzbote was the name of a daily newspaper that appeared in Crailsheim from 1872 . It emerged from the Official and Intelligence Gazette founded in 1838 for the Oberamt Crailsheim and the surrounding area .

In 1882 the businessman and printer August Richter (1855–1922) from Stimpfach became the owner of the printing works and the newspaper publisher, in 1921 his son Alfons (1889–1959) took over the management of the publishing house.

In 1941 the title in Hohenloher Zeitung had to be changed under pressure from the National Socialists . The editor was appointed by the National Socialists. Richter was only the printer.

On 20./21. In April 1945 the printing works on Langestrasse went up in flames.
