Geographical location

Stimpfach is located in the Hohenloher Land in the northeast of Baden-Württemberg approx. 10 km south of Crailsheim. Geographically and geologically speaking, the Hohenlohe Plain opens up to the north. Stimpfach itself has a share in the natural areas of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains and Frankenhöhe .

Neighboring communities

Stimpfach borders the city of Crailsheim in the north, Fichtenau in the east, Jagstzell in the Ostalbkreis in the south and Frankenhardt in the west . The northeastern exclave Sixenmühle lies between Crailsheim in the west, Kreßberg in the northeast and Fichtenau in the southeast.

The municipality of Stimpfach with the municipalities Rechenberg, Stimpfach and Weipertshofen , which were independent until the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , includes 24 villages, hamlets, farms and (individual) houses.

The village of Rechenberg, the hamlets of Bautzenhof, Connenweiler, Eichishof, Hübnershof and Kreßbronn, the Blindhof homestead and the Eichissägmühle house belong to the former municipality of Rechenberg. The village of Stimpfach, the hamlets of Hörbühl, Randenweiler, Siglershofen, Sperrhof and Streitberg and the house of Ölmühle belong to the former municipality of Stimpfach in the territorial status of October 31, 1973. The former community Weipertshofen includes the village Weipertshofen, the hamlets Gerbertshofen and Steinbach am Wald as well as the farms Hochbronn, Käsbach, Klinglesmühle, Lixhof, Nestleinsberg and Sixenmühle.

history

Stimpfach was first mentioned in a document in 1024. After various previous owners, including the Lords of Lohr , Stimpfach came completely under the rule of Ellwangen from 1608 .

Rechenberg Castle

Rechenberg Castle gave its name to the von Rechenberg family . The castle was built before 1227 and was first mentioned in a document in 1229. The resident Ritter von Rechenberg are 1229 testifies to 1405 as vassals and Stewards of the counts of Oettingen , she sat on the eponymous castle Rechenberg in the district Ostheim the municipality Westheim at Hohentrüdingen in Central Franconia, and on the festivals of Limburg and the castle Wilburg , both in Wilburgstetten . When it expired in 1608, the fiefs fell back to Ellwangen, the property passed through the heirs to Crailsheim and in 1617 to Berlichingen zu Neunstetten. Renovations took place in the 14th century and 1571. The castle was never destroyed. From 1953 to 2018 it served as a youth hostel.

In 1803 Stimpfach became part of Württemberg . First, it was the chief official Honhardt-Stimpfach , from 1810 the upper office Crailsheim (the 1934 county Crailsheim , 1938 in the district Crailsheim has been renamed) assigned. On January 1, 1973 the communities Stimpfach and Rechenberg changed their district membership and came to the Ostalb district. As part of the administrative reform in Baden-Württemberg, they merged on November 1, 1973 to form the new overall municipality of Stimpfach. This moved to the district of Schwäbisch Hall on January 1, 1975 and was again united with the neighboring community of Weipertshofen to form a new community of Stimpfach.

Economy and Infrastructure

Gebr. Schneider Fensterfabrik GmbH & Co.KG, founded in 1950 as a carpenter's workshop, employs around 850 people worldwide (as of 2005), 330 of them in Stimpfach, where the company has been based since 1962.

The confectionery manufacturer Hosta Schokolade, founded in 1949, is based in Stimpfach-Randenweiler .

In 1932, the Köhnlein doors company was founded by Karl Köhnlein out of a joinery.

education

The Kaspar Mettmann School is located in the center of Stimpfach. There is a two-class elementary school. Opposite is the St. Georg Catholic Kindergarten. Further kindergartens are located in the suburbs of Rechenberg and Weipertshofen.
