Along with Rechenberg, Weipertshofen is the most populous part of the municipality of Stimpfach in the Schwäbisch Hall district in northeast Baden-Württemberg .

Weipertshofen is first mentioned in 1348 as Wiprechtzhoven . Together with the rule of Lohr , it became Hohenlohe . Also Ellwangen had goods and fiefs in 1427 to the rule here Rechenberg arrived.

Ansbach had ruled the community since 1500 . The Ellwangian share fell to Württemberg in 1803 , the rest to Bavaria in 1806 and also to Württemberg in 1810.

The late Gothic Protestant parish church of St. Georg in Weipertshofen was rebuilt after its destruction in the Thirty Years' War in 1671/72 and the tower was raised by a half-timbered floor, the nave was rebuilt after 1870. The tower choir with cross-ribbed vault contains late Gothic carved figures.

As part of the district reform, Weipertshofen was added to the municipality of Stimpfach on January 1, 1975 , which at the same time returned from the Ostalb district to the Schwäbisch Hall district .

Weipertshofen has a municipal kindergarten. The primary school students attend the Kaspar Mettmann School in Stimpfach.

In Weipertshofen there is a glider airfield , which is operated by the Crailsheim e. V. is operated.
