Frédéric Bessy
Frédéric Bessy (born January 9, 1972 in Villefranche-sur-Saône ) is a former French cyclist .
Frédéric Bessy began his career in 1996 with the French cycling team Casino . In 1999 he took part in the Tour de France for the first time and finished it in 42nd place overall. He then drove for Jean Delatour for a year . In 2001 he switched to Crédit Agricole , where he drove for two years. Bessy has been driving with the current ProTour team Cofidis since 2003 . In 2004 he landed his greatest success when he won the Swiss one-day race Gran Premio di Lugano . In the same year he had to give up the Tour de France , in which he started a total of five times, for the first time after a fall on the second stage. He ended his career at the end of the 2007 season.
