Fraisa is an internationally oriented Swiss family company that produces cutting tools for metal processing . The headquarters of the company, which is organized as a Holding AG, is in Bellach , Switzerland.

history

Fraisa SA was founded in 1934 by Johann Stüdeli as a production facility for milling tools for the watch industry. In 1950, Hans Stüdeli took over the majority of the shares and successfully aligned the company with the international markets by expanding the sales structure. In 1997, his two daughters Susanne Schibli and Charlotte Froelicher took over the majority of shares in the Fraisa Group and thus completed the generation change. They in turn handed over the majority of the shares to Josef Maushart in 2005 with the stipulation that the group of companies would continue to operate as an independent family company over the long term. With Fraisa France, the first sales company abroad was founded in 1984, followed in 1988 by Fraisa GmbH in Willich, Germany. In the same year Fraisa acquired the company Schäublin AG (ESO), with which it merged in 1997. Fraisa Italia srl. Was founded in Milan in 1993, followed by entry into the Hungarian market in 1999 with the laying of the foundation stone for Fraisa Hungaria Kft. Entry into the service business in the Swiss market was achieved in 2000 with the acquisition of E. Weber AG in Langnau. In 2001 the company expanded with its own modern production facility on the North American market and in 2002 Fraisa expanded its presence in Hungary by acquiring the Szerszám Köszörü Zentrum in Sarospatak as a further production location of the FRAISA Group. In 2004, Fraisa achieved sales of over 50 million euros for the first time. Josef Maushart has been the majority shareholder in the company since 2005.

Fraisa supports young Swiss technology professionals. In addition to an in-house training and test center at the Bellach site, the company has been organizing the national ToolChampions apprenticeship competition, a kind of Swiss championship for polymechanics, at which prizes worth CHF 50,000 are awarded annually since the 1980s. Over 30,000 young people from all parts of the country took part. Fraisa is also a co-initiator of the Swiss career fair IBLive.

Locations

Fraisa includes production sites in Switzerland, Hungary, Germany and the USA as well as sales and service centers in Germany, France, Hungary, Italy, the USA - and of course Switzerland. The headquarters and development center are located in Bellach, Switzerland.
