François Bethune
François Bethune (born March 18, 1868 in Ghent , † November 1, 1938 in Leuven ) was a Belgian Romanist and Medievalist .
life and work
The Baron François Bethune was 1892-1893 a student of Gaston Paris . Together with Georges Doutrepont , he founded the Department of Romance Philology at the Catholic University of Leuven and was a professor there from 1893 to 1938, but published very little. Bethune was the teacher of Alphonse Bayot and Omer Jodogne .
