François Brousse 1994

François Brousse (born May 7, 1913 in Perpignan ; † October 25, 1995 in Clamart ) was a French philosophy professor and writer who was mainly active in Languedoc-Roussillon . From 1938 he appeared as the author of poems, novels, theater plays and fairy tales as well as metaphysical, astronomical, historical and esoteric essays. He is one of the forerunners of the so-called "philosophical cafés" movement that emerged in France at the end of the 20th century.

biography

Brousse was the only child of a French-Catalan family in Perpignan. It is said that he started writing poetry at the age of 10.

In 1932 he began studying literature at the University of Montpellier . From March 1936 (or November 1937) Brousse was boarding school director and teacher. In 1940 he took up a professorship in philosophy and literature in Languedoc-Roussillon , which he held until his resignation in 1975. He also taught cosmography (1955, 1962). During this time, his thinking is strongly influenced by Cajzoran Ali, a 35-year-old North American woman who published a book on yoga in New York in 1928.

In the course of his life Brousse wrote numerous poems and essays, often with mythological content. He was also an admirer of Victor Hugo . Brousse also published various historical, pseudo-prophetic writings, e.g. B. "The Towers of the Night" (1939).

In the 1950s Brousse began his esoteric poetry of the "Fourth Dimension", which he describes as an overworld, and which can only be achieved through a vegetable diet, non-violence and the practice of Buddhist blessing.

According to Brousse, the universe is ruled by three forces: freedom, fate, and divinity. Man reaps what he sows.

From 1985 to 1990 a new style of poetry emerged, that of "Transfini", a term used by the German mathematician Georg Cantor (1845–1918). For the poet "the Transfini is the connection between the finite and the infinite in a transcendental synthesis: his specialty is the Enlightenment."

Act

F. Brousse began his activity in the field of astronomy through conferences in the fall of 1951 (Journal Madeloc , Perpignan, No. 14, Nov. 1951). This took on greater dimensions during his stay in Prades (1961–1965) when he began a cycle on the subject of the Apocalypse (1961–1981), a subject on which he had wanted to bring new knowledge since 1945.

From 1975 he devoted several conferences (1976–1978, Prades, Perpignan) to encounters with the beings who shaped his life: Zorah - or Cajzoran Ali - (1938), the Count of Saint-Germain (1966), Apollonius von Tyane (1927). In his utterances, he also dealt with other historical figures, among whom he classifies the prophets of humanity such as Rama, Jesus, Plotinus, Ulrich von Mainz, etc.

In June 1979 he held his first conference in Paris on the subject of "The communication of the senses and the mind."

His conferences (1984–1990) discuss " astrosophy ". Brousse held its last conference in October 1990 on the "Fourth Dimension Manifesto" and had its last appearance in June 1995.

430 publications emerged from these numerous discussions and conferences.

François Brousse and "France-Inde" (1952–1963)

France-Inde magazine was published by the association of the same name from February 1951, but it was founded in Pierrefitte (Paris region) as early as 1948. It was under the direction of Gopaljee Samboo. The magazine appeared quarterly or bimonthly from February 1951 (No. 1) to 1975 (No. 100) and was supported by an honorary committee that included J.-P. Sartre, Sanghor and G. Duhamel (1954) supported. The orientalist Jean Herbert has written several articles on Hindu spirituality. Dozens of poems have appeared in France-Inde magazine , as well as articles and fourteen performances of Brousse's works.

However, in June 1952, F. Brousse and C. Van Dyck created a France-Inde committee in Perpignan, which joined the national association France-Inde. Nine public conferences were organized in this context between 1953 and 1963. The France-Inde Committee of Perpignan published the first edition of the Agni newspaper in 1953 ( Agni magazine , Perpignan, nos. 1-24, 1953-1960).

idea

In his poetic collections Brousse addresses the role of the poet, whom he describes in a radio broadcast as the “gardener of mankind” (1957): “Since then I have believed in the civilizing task of the poet. He scatters the seeds of beauty, admiration, enthusiasm, love in the collective subconscious of humanity; and these seeds slowly germinate; thanks to this one notices the only true development, the development of the soul. "

In the city of Perpignan he initiated informal discussions in public places, in cafes, herb shops, associations and associations (Group of the Fourth Dimension 1950, Association France-India 1953 etc.) and published in various magazines ( Madeloc , Sources Vives , Agni , Conflent , Tramontane etc.).

A knowledgeable and talented speaker, he took part in conferences from 1951 (regularly from 1963), for example in Prades, Perpignan and then throughout France, in Geneva (Switzerland, 1990) and Tell el-Amarna (Egypt, 1992). His contributions were mostly published in the local press. In 1945 he stated: "One of my earthly tasks consists not only of revealing the keys to Hugo's esotericism, but also the Arcana of St. John and the secrets of Nostradamus".

Perceived as an unclassifiable and picturesque personality of the city, he described himself as a "calm person". “I prefer to meditate rather than meet people and the crowd. I just want to be read because I want to convey an important message. [...] My job is to rekindle the blatant torch of poetry, metaphysics and the ideal. "

Local newspapers ( L'Indépendant , Midi Libre , La Dépêche du Midi ) and national press have devoted more than 250 articles to him, and over three hundred other articles about him have appeared in periodicals.
