François Bry or Bry-Haußer (born August 10, 1956 in Paris ) is a Franco-German professor of computer science .

Life

From 1970 to 1974 he attended the École Alsacienne in Paris. From 1974 to 1978 he studied mathematics and economics at the University of Paris-Dauphine (Paris 9) and mathematics at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie . From 1979 to 1981 he conducted research on the latter under the supervision of Michel Las Vergnas in Claude Berge's research group on coupling in finite and infinite graphs and lectured at ESIEA ( École supérieure d'informatique d'électronique et d'automatique ). In 1981 he received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie.

From 1982 to 1983 he did his military service as a press officer with the SIRPA Air unit ( Service d'informations et de relations publiques des armées ) of the French air force . He then spent two years researching statistical databases at the IRT research center (now INRETS ) in Paris. From 1985 to 1993 he conducted research at the European Computer-Industry Research Center in Munich on automatic proofs, logic programming and deductive databases. Since 1994 he has held a chair for programming and modeling languages ​​at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

He researches standard languages , query languages , information systems , semantic web human computation and e-learning (see also ARTigo ).
