François Ngeze

François Ngeze (* ?? in the province of Bujumbura) was President of Burundi from October 21, 1993 to October 27, 1993 .

He was installed by the military Committee of Public Salvation , a group of officers who overthrew the democratically elected government of President Melchior Ndadaye . Ndadaye was killed during the coup .

Ngeze which the Ethnos of Hutu belongs, was a member of the Union for National Progress . He was interior minister in the government of Pierre Buyoya , who then lost to Ndadaye in the June 1 election.

After the coup was largely rejected, the committee was dissolved on October 27th. Sylvie Kinigi , who was Prime Minister during the Ndadaye government, then assumed the office of President.
