Francesco De Bonis
Francesco De Bonis (born April 14, 1982 in Isola del Liri ) is an Italian racing cyclist .
Career
Francesco De Bonis was runner-up in 2003 at the Trofeo Internazionale Bastianelli . In 2006 he finished second at the Grand Premio Capodarco . The next year, Francesco de Bonis won the Gran Premio Folignano and a day later was seventh at the Giro Ciclistico del Cigno . The next weekend he was able to win the Trofeo Internazionale Bastianelli. In 2008 he drove for the German ProTeam Gerolsteiner . He won a stage for this team and the mountain classification of the Tour de Romandie . In 2009 he was under contract with Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni and competed in the Giro d'Italia , which he finished 84th overall.
On June 17, 2009 the UCI announced that doping proceedings had been initiated against Francesco De Bonis and four other drivers because of abnormalities in their blood profiles. The irregularities could be determined based on the blood passport introduced in 2008. He was banned for two years.
