Francesco Tullio Altan
Altan (born September 30, 1942 in Treviso ; actually Francesco Tullio Altan ) is an Italian comic artist .
He began to study architecture , but broke it off. Instead, he turned to cinema as a copywriter. In 1970 he moved to Brazil for four years, where he published his first comics in a local newspaper. In 1974 Pimpa was created for the magazine Il Corriere dei Piccoli , the weekly children's supplement to Corriere della Sera . The experiences of the red-dotted dog Pimpa have been reprinted in numerous, small-format volumes and filmed as an animated series. Meanwhile , Altan created satirical comics for adults such as Cipputti and Ada for Linus magazine . In 1988 his album Ada was filmed in the jungle . He was also active as a political cartoonist.
He is the son of the anthropologist Carlo Tullio-Altan (1916–2005).
