Francis Lodowick York

Francis Lodowick York (born March 8, 1861 in Ontonagon , Michigan , † January 13, 1955 in Highland Park , Michigan) was an American organist, composer and music teacher.

Alexandre Guilmant's student worked in Detroit from around 1875 . He taught organ, piano and composition at the Detroit Conservatory of Music and Ypsilanti State Normal College and was organist at Christ Church since 1896 . He published A Practical Introduction To Composition, Harmony Simplified , in 1926 . His organ composition Spring Song was published in 1909.
