Francis Miroglio

Francis Miroglio (born December 12, 1924 in Marseille , † July 29, 2005 near Paris ) was a French composer of post-serial music .

Miroglio studied music at the Conservatories in Marseille (1954–1957) and Paris (1951–1952). He then worked in the electronic music studios at ORTF (1959–1961) and took part in the international summer courses for new music in Darmstadt . He directed several festivals for contemporary music and in 1965 founded the festival for music and contemporary art Les Nuits de la Fondation Maeght in the southern French painter's town of Saint-Paul de Vence , which he was in charge of until 1971. He composed for stage plays and films and dedicated himself to so-called open, random sound forms.
