Francisco José Gabilondo Soler (born October 6, 1907 in Orizaba , † December 14, 1990 in Texcoco ), known as Cri-Cri, El Grillito Cantor , was a Mexican author, composer and interpreter of children's songs.

In his youth, Gabilondo pursued a wide variety of interests, tried his hand at boxing, bullfighter and swimmer and occupied himself with astronomy. At the age of nineteen he learned to play the piano by himself. With a number of his own children's songs I applied to the artistic director of the XEW radio station, Othón Vélez , and was given the opportunity to introduce himself. In a fifteen-minute broadcast he sang his first songs in 1934: El Chorrito , Bombón I and El Ropero .

Since animals were often the protagonists of his songs and the accompaniment of a violinist was initially planned, he soon appeared under the name Cri-Cri, El Grillito Cantor . His broadcast ran until 1961, during which time Gabilondo wrote 228 songs, of which he recorded more than 120.
