Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza

Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza (born October 12, 1918 in Cáseda , † July 18, 2000 in Madrid ) was a Spanish architect and influential exponent of the modernist movement in Spanish architecture .

Life

Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza went to school in Seville and studied architecture in Madrid . After a study trip to the USA, he returned to Madrid in 1949 and began teaching at ETSAM there, later becoming its director. Sáenz is considered one of the most influential Spanish architects of the second half of the 20th century. He died of cancer in 2000.
