Francisco Laínez

Francisco Esteban Antonio Laínez Rivas (born March 23, 1961 in San Salvador ) is a politician from El Salvador .

Life

Laínez succeeded María Eugenia Brizuela de Ávila after President Antonio Saca's inauguration as Foreign Minister in his cabinet, which also included Vice-President Ana Vilma de Escobar , Defense Minister General Otto Romero, Finance Minister Guillermo López and Interior Minister René Mario Figueroa. He held the post of Foreign Minister until his resignation on January 15, 2008 and was replaced on January 16, 2008 by the lawyer Marisol Argueta de Barillas .
