Marisol Argueta de Barillas (born April 6, 1968 ) is a politician of the Alianza Republicana Nacionalista (ARENA) from El Salvador .

Life

Marisol Argueta de Barillas studied law at the University of Oxford and New York University and worked as a lawyer. She became foreign minister in the cabinet of President Antonio Saca on January 16, 2008 , after the previous foreign minister, Francisco Laínez, resigned on January 15, 2008. She held this ministerial office until President Mauricio Funes took office on June 1, 2009 and was then replaced by Hugo Martínez .
