María Eugenia Brizuela de Ávila

María Eugenia Brizuela de Ávila (born October 31, 1965 in San Salvador ) was Foreign Minister of El Salvador from 1999 to 2003 .

Maria Brizuela attended the American School in San Salvador and then studied Romance languages at the University of Geneva and at the Sorbonne in Paris. She also completed a law degree in El Salvador with distinction. She worked as a lawyer and taught law at the José Matias Delgado University. Brizuela specializes in insurance.

From June 1999 to 2003 she was Foreign Minister in the government of Francisco Flores Pérez .
