Franck Lucchesi (born September 19, 1963 in Montfavet , Avignon ) is a former French football player .
Career
Lucchesi began his career at Avignon Football . In 1981, the then 17-year-old experienced relegation with this club. He switched to Olympique Nîmes because he could not bring his great talent to advantage in Avignon. In 1983 he was promoted to the first division with Nîmes . After only a year, the club was relegated, but Lucchesi initially remained loyal to it. The player, who initially played mostly in midfield, was now used as a left-back. In 1986 he was lured away from HSC Montpellier . Only a year later he rose to the first division with the new team. There Lucchesi defended together with Pascal Baills and thus contributed to the fact that the team reached third place just one year after promotion. After six successful years, he returned to Nîmes. Lucchesi was, however, very safe in scoring, in 160 games for Montpellier, he only managed one goal. After returning to Nîmes in 1992, he had to accept relegation to the second division just a year later. The team around players like Didier Monczuk was no longer up to the first division. Lucchesi played in the second division for two more years before turning his back on Nîmes in 1995. Then he let his career end with a lower class club from Saint-Rémy . In 2003 he returned to coach his first club, Avignon Football. He held this post until 2005.
