Franck Proust
Franck Proust (born May 2, 1963 in Poitiers ) is a French politician of the Union pour un mouvement populaire (UMP) and a member of the European Parliament .
Life
Proust studied management until 1984 and worked as an insurance agent at Axa after completing his studies . He completed postgraduate studies in marketing in 1985 and is a graduate of the Center for Marketing Studies and Research (CEREM) of the University of Auvergne .
His political career began in 1989 as assistant to the mayor of Nîmes . Between 1995 and 2001 he was a councilor for the city. When Jean-Paul Fournier was elected Mayor of Nîmes in March 2001, Proust became Vice-President of the Communauté d'agglomération de Nîmes Métropole . Between 2004 and 2011 Proust was General Councilor in the Gard department for the canton of Nîmes-5 . He has been a member of the European Parliament since June 23, 2011. In 2012 he ran in the department of Gard in the parliamentary elections , but failed because of the Green Christophe Cavard .
