Franco is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Mirandela . The community had 242 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities Franco and Vila Boa merged to form the new municipality União das Freguesias de Franco e Vila Boa . Franco is the seat of this newly formed community.
