Fradizela is a town and municipality in northern Portugal .

history

Finds in the region indicate prehistoric and subsequently Roman settlements, possibly also in the area of today's municipality of Fradizela, but there are no significant finds here. The current bridge Ponte do Arquinho was probably built over an older Roman bridge , a Roman miliarium is said to have been found here.

The current place of Fradizela was probably created in the course of the settlement policy after the Reconquista , as the records of King D. Dinis from 1290 show. The knight Pedro Fernandes carried out the repopulation here.

In 1727 the baroque parish church was built.

Fradizela remained a parish of the Torre de Dona Chama district until the various administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1821 and the subsequent Miguelistenkrieg in 1834. With the final dissolution of the Torre de Dona Chama district in 1855, Fradizela came to Mirandela.
