Vale de Salgueiro is a place and a municipality in northern Portugal . The municipality is located in the region of Trás-os-Montes ( Portuguese for behind-the-mountains), which is characterized by rugged nature and Celtic-archaic traditions .

The annual festival Dia de Reis (Portuguese for King's Day), with which Epiphany is celebrated, is known nationwide. During the village parades, minors traditionally smoke tobacco on that day, which is often the subject of reports on the Dia de Reis . Since 2014, a fair-like market has been held on Epiphany, the Feira dos Reis .
