Aguieiras is a town and municipality in northern Portugal .

history

Finds prove a prehistoric settlement, especially rock paintings from the 4th to 2nd millennium BC. Chr.

The present-day place was probably created during the course of the new settlements after the medieval Reconquista . Aguieiras has been a separate community since at least 1607.

In the registers of 1758, Aguieiras is listed as a municipality in the Monforte de Rio Livre district (now an abandoned place in the Lebução municipality ) with 120 households.

Since the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1821 and the subsequent Miguelistenkrieg , Aguieiras has been a municipality in the Mirandela district.
