Caravelas is a town and municipality in northern Portugal .

history

Finds prove a prehistoric settlement, in particular the Anta Anta de Caravela , a Mámoa that dates back to around 3000 BC. Was built.

The present-day village was probably created during the course of new settlements after the medieval Reconquista .
