Frank Büttner (2017)

Frank Büttner (* 1960 in East Berlin , GDR ) is a German actor.

Career

Büttner grew up in East Berlin . Between the ages of 14 and 25 he worked as a skilled worker for railway construction technology. For the future actor, the experience of track construction formed the link between film and theater and real life. He graduated from evening school, studied social sciences, and then worked in the psychosocial field. Büttner never attended drama school, but has been cast for major roles by well-known German directors since 1997.

After the fall of the Wall, he began his theater career and played between 1997 and 2017 at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. There he could be seen for Frank Castorf , Dimiter Gotscheff and Christoph Schlingensief in plays such as Die Brüder Karamasow , Das große Fressen , and Love Pangs . His identity has always shaped him in acting - he is the son of a laundress and a butcher. Frank Castorf valued him in an interview as an authentic person and actor.

He has been involved in productions at the Deutsches Theater since 2018 .
