Francis David "Frank" Fielding (born April 4, 1988 in Blackburn , North West England ) is an English football goalkeeper who moved to Millwall FC in June 2019 .

Club career

Blackburn Rovers

Frank Fielding, who came from the club's own youth, remained in the Blackburn Rovers' professional team between 2007 and 2011 without a league game. He spent most of the time on loan at lower class clubs, where he was able to collect match practice.

Derby County

Having been in the Football League Championship 2010/11 on loan at Derby County had acted, the club signed him from Derby for the new season on a fixed contract basis. On May 9, 2011 Fielding signed a three-year contract with the second division club.

Bristol City

A good two years later, Fielding moved to Bristol City , which had recently been relegated to the third division. In the 2014/15 season, he was a regular goalkeeper in the team who made 46 league appearances and returned to the second division. Fielding spent four more years there before being released in June 2019 and hired by second division rivals Millwall FC .

Millwall FC

On his debut for Millwall on August 3, 2019, Fielding was injured in the first half and had to be replaced early.

English national team

After two appearances in the English U-19 national team, Frank Fielding made his debut on November 18, 2008 in the England U-21 national team . On August 10, 2010, he was called up for the friendly against Hungary for the first time in the A-squad of England , as coach Fabio Capello had to do without some goalkeepers. The highlight of his junior career was his participation in the U-21 European Football Championship 2011 in Denmark. Fielding played in the team coached by Stuart Pearce all three preliminary round games, but had to travel home early after leaving early.
