Frank Goldammer (* 1975 in Dresden , GDR) is a German writer.

Goldammer grew up in Dresden-Neustadt. The trained painter and varnisher has been a master since 2003 and continues to work in his profession.

Goldammer has been writing since he was 20 years old. His first publications were self-published. In 2012 the first crime novel ( Abstauber ) was published, a football crime thriller set in Dresden.

With Der Angstmann , Volume 1 of the crime series about the Dresden police officer Max Heller ( dtv ), he made it onto the Spiegel bestseller list in 2016, as did the successor volumes. The first volume is set in 1944, volume 2 in 1947, volume 3 in 1948, volume 4 in 1951. The series is supposed to end in the year the Berlin Wall was built in 1961 when Max Heller retires.

The Max Heller series has also appeared in the USA, Great Britain and Australia since May 2018, published by AmazonCrossing. Further translations may appear. a. in the Netherlands and Greece.

Goldammer lives in Dresden, is divorced, a single father and has three children.
