history
The port was opened in 1967. The harbor basin was created from a former quarry pond that was connected to the Rhine. The reason for the construction of the port was the settlement of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth and the Wörth refinery , which was located in the northwest of the port and used handling facilities for petroleum products. After the refinery was closed in 1996, the Palm paper mill went into operation in 2002 and is now handling paper there.

The handling operators are Contargo Wörth Karlsruhe GmbH and the paper mill Palm GmbH & Co. KG .
