Frank Griffel
Frank Griffel (* 1965 ) is a German scholar of Islam.
He studied philosophy, Arabic literature and Islamic studies in Göttingen , Damascus , Berlin and London. In 1999 he received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin. After that he worked in Beirut .
Since 2000 he has been teaching at Yale University , where he has been a full professor of Islamic Studies in the Department of Religious Studies since 2008.
