Francesco "Fat Frank" Majuri (born April 18, 1909 , † 1983 ) was an Italian-American mobster of the US Cosa Nostra and member of the DeCavalcante family , which operates from Elizabeth (New Jersey) . Frank Majuri was the father of Charles "Big Ears" Majuri , who serves the family as a senior capo in the Newark (New Jersey) faction.

Career

Frank Majuri lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey and married Carmela Camiano. He was the brother of John, Vincent, Anthony, Louis and his sister Bessie. He said he was a foreman at CF Brown & Co. at Tremley Point in Linden, New Jersey .

From 1955, Majuri was promoted to capo and in 1956 to underboss under the regime of head of the family Filippo Amari . Amari's tenure turned out to be very short, however, as internal rivalries arose between the Elizabeth and Newark factions and Amari was to be replaced by his underboss Nicholas Delmore . Delmore took part in the famous Apalachin meeting in 1957, together with Majuri and Louis LaRasso (Elisabeth faction) . Delmore officially became boss , LaRasso was promoted to the new underboss and Majuri to the new consigliere .

Under the tenure of family namesake Sam DeCavalcante , he and Majuri became two of the most powerful mafiosi in New Jersey, and they doubled the family's membership and profits. After DeCavalcante went into semi-retirement in 1982 and stepped down as boss, Giovanni Riggi took control of the family and promoted Stefano Vitabile to the new Consigliere. A year later, Francesco "Fat Frank" Majuri died of natural causes.
