Frank Schwab

Frank Schwab (* 1963 ) is a German media psychologist and university professor.

Life

Frank Schwab studied psychology at Saarbrücken University from 1986 to 1992 . He then worked as a research assistant in clinical psychology and media and organizational psychology as well as a freelance worker at the Saarland Media Psychological Research Institute (mefis). After receiving his doctorate in Saarbrücken in 2000 , he completed his habilitation in June 2008 on media psychology in entertainment. Since October 2010 he has been Professor of Media Psychology at the Human-Computer-Media Institute at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

His main research interests include aspects of evolutionary psychology in media (emotional media effects ) and organizations, systemic approaches in organizational psychology as well as multimedia and hypertext .

Schwab is a member of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies (DGPuK) and the International Society for Human Ethology (ISHE).
