Frank Weinreich

Frank Weinreich (* 1962 in Osnabrück ) is a freelance German author and editor .

Life

Frank Weinreich studied philosophy , journalism and political science at the Ruhr-University Bochum , worked as a scientist at the Universities of Bochum, Dortmund and Vechta and was in Vechta with a thesis on medical ethics and bioethics as a doctor of philosophy doctorate . Since 2001 he has been working as a freelancer with a focus on practical philosophy, ethics, education, technology assessment , mythology and fantasy literature. He was best known for his work on the work of JRR Tolkien, as co-editor of the scientific yearbook of the German Tolkien Society and as the author of secondary literature on fantasy in general. Weinreich won the German Fantastic Prize in 2006 and 2008 as editor and in 2008 also took second place as an author. Since 2002 he has increasingly appeared as a short story writer and fantasy editor.
