Franken-Sat was a joint program of the Franconian local television stations and is part of a project by the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM) to distribute local television via digital satellite television ( DVB-S ) in order to improve the economic situation of the stations by increasing the range and marketing opportunities become. The company was based in Würzburg.
