history

Today's Franken Fernsehen was created in 2003 from taking over the reception channels of what was then FF Franken Fernsehen after RTL Franken Life TV ceased broadcasting as a result of the operator's insolvency . The merging of the two broadcasting slots and the subsequent takeover of the broadcast license and the former name gave the subjective impression of a merger of the two broadcasters.

Previously, the license for the local RTL broadcasting window, which the older "Drehscheibe Franken" broadcast parallel to Franken Fernsehen and was licensed separately, was not extended towards the end of the regular approval period and went to the new provider Franken Life. It was the direct rival broadcaster in prime time. Since November 1, 1995, he has been producing a 30-minute regional news program every working day, which was broadcast between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the RTL frequency. With a reach of 11.9 percent (viewers aged 14 and over), the 1999 program was the most popular station at this time. In 1997 it was renamed RTL Franken Life TV. With the bankruptcy of the then broadcaster Franken Funk und Fernsehen , RTL Franken Life TV took over its full frequency in 2003. With this takeover, the broadcaster also took over the license from the previous provider. The BLM officially starts broadcasting on February 28, 1994.

For a while, the program was broadcast simultaneously under the names RTL Franken Life TV and Franken Fernsehen , from 2003 the station and the program will be renamed Franken TV. The Neumarkt TV regional window has existed since 2005, produced by the FM broadcasting program provider GmbH.

On November 2, 2010, the name was changed back to Franconia TV as part of a relaunch . On May 31, 2014, the broadcasting via DVB-T was stopped at the broadcaster's own request.

reception

In cable television, the program is transmitted digitally and analogously in the networks of Vodafone Kabel Deutschland and M-net , as well as in Vodafone Kabel Deutschland as a program window on RTL.
