The Johann-Simon-Mayr-Schule is a state school in Riedenburg . It is named after the composer Johann Simon Mayr (1763–1845).

history

The Johann Simon Mayr School was founded in 1964. The sponsor is the Kelheim district . In the 2017/18 school year, 814 students attended the school (540 boys and 274 girls), which were taught by around 50 teachers and 15 trainee teachers.

Comenius projects

As part of the Comenius program , the EU-funded project Young Europeans in their Free Time , which started in 2000, was coordinated by the school. After graduation in 2003, the school hosted the opening event of the Comenius project Water (rivers / canals / seas) - Its impact on our regions , in which the school participated from 2003 to 2006.
