Franken-Therme
The Franken-Therme is a thermal bath with bathing area, an artificially created salt lake , sauna and wellness area in Bad Windsheim . The Franken-Therme is operated by Franken-Therme Bad Windsheim GmbH. The facility opened on December 16, 2005. The construction costs amounted to 18.6 million euros. The facility was expanded at least in 2010.
Subject areas
The Franken-Therme is divided into four thematic areas: the bathing halls, the salt lake, the sauna area and the wellness area. Salt lake and sauna area are subject to a surcharge. You don't pay a flat-rate surcharge for the wellness area - you have to book the treatments in advance and pay for them separately.
Bathing halls
The "bathing halls", the normal bathing area of the facility, consist of four thermal water brine pools (1.5%, 4% and 12% brine , approx. 30 ° C - 34 ° C), one of which is outside and two are textile -Steam baths, two relaxation rooms and an externally accessible restaurant. Free water aerobics take place six times a day on all opening days.
salt lake
The thermal water for the partially covered salt lake , a fluoride-containing thermal brine sourling, is pumped from the so-called "thermal brine source" only 200 m away from the Franken-Therme and fed directly into the salt lake. This artificial lake is fed with the fully saturated brine and has a salt content of 26.9% and (through constant heating) a water temperature of approx. 26 ° C - 30 ° C.
Another indoor pool with 12% brine and 34 ° C - 36 ° C water temperature is part of the “Salt Lake” area.
Sauna area
The sauna landscape is divided into outdoor and indoor areas: In the outdoor area there are three saunas (panorama sauna, fireplace sauna, bio sauna), two relaxation rooms (one of them for sleeping), a refreshment pool (approx. 12 ° C) and a relaxation pool (1, 5% brine, approx. 32 ° C - 34 ° C). Access to the individual subject areas is enabled by means of turnstiles , which react to the access card issued at the entrance or the locker key (chip) available with it. With this procedure you can pay all additional services and also the bills of the restaurants in the thermal bath: When leaving the thermal bath, the identification is read from the chip card and the guest is billed for the costs.
