The Frankenberger Bank, Raiffeisenbank eG is a cooperative bank in Frankenberg .

history

Dodenau office, 1985

The Frankenberger Bank was created in 2000 from the merger of Raiffeisenbank Oberes Edertal eG, Raiffeisenbank eG Frankenberg, Raiffeisenbank eG Frankenau and Raiffeisenbank Geismar-Haubern eG. In 2003 the Raiffeisenbank Bottendorf eG was incorporated. The establishment of the oldest predecessor cooperative was in Dodenau in 1869. On October 28, 1961, the general assembly of the Raiffeisenkasse Wangershausen (founded in 1901 as Spar- und Kreditkasse Rengershausen) decided to relocate its headquarters to Frankenberg and to include the not yet cooperatively organized towns of Schreufa, Rodenbach and Willersdorf in its area. This laid the foundation stone for a Raiffeisenkasse Frankenberg in the then district town. Today's Frankenberger Bank, Raiffeisenbank eG emerged from this Raiffeisen bank as well as from many small savings and loan banks, threshing and goods purchasing cooperatives in the Ederbergland, which grew together in the 20th century and reacted to changed economic and market structures with mergers and course corrections.

Business area

In addition to the headquarters in Frankenberg, the business area also includes the cities and communities of Allendorf (Eder), Battenberg, Bromskirchen, Burgwald, Frankenau, Haina (monastery) and Hatzfeld.

Members

The members of the Frankenberger Bank are both customers and owners of the cooperative bank. On the occasion of the anniversary of 10,000 members in 2011, the bank planted a member forest with 10,000 young oaks in a wooded area between Hatzfeld / Eder and Reddighausen. The bank currently has 12,496 members (as of December 2019). In April 2016, a second member forest with a further 5,000 oaks was planted in the Kellerwald National Park in Frankenau.

education

One to three apprentices each complete their training to become a bank clerk or a bank clerk in 3 years of apprenticeship. In addition to vocational training at the Hans Viessmann School in Frankenberg, the training also includes seminars at the GenoAkademie in Baunatal and internal workshops and coaching. After successful completion, further qualifications and courses of study (Bachelor of Arts, banking specialist, banking economist) usually follow. The bank offers a year-long internship position for students attending the technical college.

Subsidiaries

Frankenberger Bank has a subsidiary in which it has a 100% interest. Raiffeisen-Immobilien GmbH encompasses the entire real estate business of the bank. In addition to the brokerage of houses and apartments, the complete service for buyers and sellers (valuation of the property, advertising the property, viewing, interested party database, preparation of sales contracts, property handover) is offered.
