Frankfurter Kreis (SPD)

The Frankfurter Kreis was an umbrella organization of the left in the SPD . It was founded in the winter of 1966 by Walter Möller and Jochen Steffen . Other circles on the left such as B. the Tübingen district went into it.

The Frankfurter Kreis held its annual meeting in Oer-Erkenschwick . The circle whose prominent members u. a. Peter von Oertzen and Harry Ristock also met before and during party conventions, submitted initiative motions and tried to coordinate the voting behavior of the left.

In 1972 the Leverkusener Kreis was created to coordinate the work of the left in the parliamentary group. In 1980 the Leverkusener Kreis was renamed Parliamentary Left .

In 2000, the Forum Democratic Left 21 was founded as a broad alliance within the SPD .
