The Franklin Island ( Danish Franklin Ø ) is a Greenlandic island.

Franklin Island is one of three islands in the Kennedy Channel , part of the Nares Strait that stretches between Canada's Ellesmere Island and northern Greenland . The other two islands are Crozier Island and Hans Island .

The uninhabited island with no vegetation is the largest of the three islands and is located about 5 kilometers north of the Greenland mainland ( Cape Constitution ). It is about 9.8 × 4.7 km in size. The relatively flat island drops steeply on the coast. On the southeast side, however, it rises up to a height of 215 meters.

It was named after the British researcher John Franklin (1786–1847).
