Coordinates: 33 ° 41 ′  S , 136 ° 56 ′  E The District Council of Franklin Harbor is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 3,283 km² and has about 1300 inhabitants (2016).

Franklin Harbor is located in the northwest of the Eyre Peninsula on the Spencer Gulf about 210 km as the crow flies northwest of the metropolis Adelaide . The area includes 26 hamlets and hamlets: Carpa, Charleston, Coolanie, Cowell, Elbow Hill, Franklin Harbor, Glynn, Hawker, Heggaton, James, Lucky Bay, Mangalo, McGregor, Midurnie, Miltalie, Miltalie North, Minbrie, Mitchellville, Mount Millar , Playford, Port Gibbon, Pondooma, Utera, Warren, Wilton and Yabmana. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the coastal town of Cowell on Franklin Harbor, which is home to around 1000 residents (2016).

Franklin Harbor Council has six members, the five councilors and the chairman and mayor of the council are elected by the residents of the LGA. Franklin Harbor is not divided into districts.
