Frans Doormann (born February 14, 1709 in Hamburg ; † August 22, 1784 ibid) was a Hamburg merchant , senator and mayor .

Life

Frans, also Franz , Doormann was the son of the elder David Doormann and Elisabeth Bostelmann. From May 5, 1761, he was senator and from April 28, 1780 until his death in 1784, mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

After his death, a mayor's penny was minted in his honor. The Doormannsweg in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel was named after him.

His son, Hermann Doormann , was also politically active in Hamburg. His son Frans also became senior in 1810.
