Frans van Rooy (born June 3, 1963 in Woensel ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Van Rooy started with the PSV Eindhoven juniors and moved to the club's professional team in 1983. In 1985 he received the Johan Cruijff Prijs as the best young talent of the year in the Netherlands. In 1986 he moved to the Belgian soccer league at Royal Antwerp and five years later to league competitor Standard Liège . After a season with PAOK Thessaloniki (1994/95) he went back to Belgium to KVC Westerlo , where he ended his active career in 1996.
