František Čech (born May 8, 1898 in Olomouc ; † November 19, 1951 there ) was a Czech puppeteer and puppeteer.

Čech attended high school in his hometown until 1917 and completed a technical degree in Prague . He then worked as a chemical engineer in the sugar industry in the Moravian-Silesian region. As a student he wrote his first puppet show. In 1920 he founded a puppet theater in Olomouc-Hatschein, for which he wrote around 150 pieces. Of these, eighty appeared in print. The humorous, practice-oriented pieces with the protagonists Kašpárek, Škrhola and the policeman Pivoňka were particularly popular with amateur groups. He also gave courses for puppeteers, published literature on puppetry, and edited works for puppet theater.
